Jennifer Hornyak as been asked to participate in the Fundraiser for the new Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal Concert Hall. The piece she will be presenting is an intervention on
former lead violinist Otto Joachim's violin that was graciously donated by his family for the event.
The theme of the auction is My Heart is a Violin and will also feature pieces by
other Montreal artists such as Peter Krausz, Susan Scott and Chaki.

Dans un coin perdu de Parc-Extension, son atelier enchevêtré a des airs de boutique d'apothicaire. Les étagères chatouillent les plafonds, bondées de poches de résines venues d'Afrique, de cires d'abeille qui embaument le miel, de colle de peau de lapin et de pigments aux noms sortis du Moyen Âge. Alchimiste des temps modernes, Vincent Deshaies est le seul artisan au Québec à vendre des huiles naturelles et des pigments à peindre, fabriqués de sa main experte. Des huiles courues par plusieurs peintres, et maintenant expédiées sur quatre continents.
Le jeune patron de Kama Pigments est un genre de Vermeer du troisième millénaire, sans jeune fille à la perle à ses côtés. Certains taillent des costumes uniques pour leurs clients fortunés, lui fabrique des huiles sur mesure pour un Marc Séguin, une Jennifer Hornyak, un Tom Hopkins et une foule d'artistes sans le sou.

In conversation with
On October 8, Westmount artist Jennifer Hornyak introduced a new book of her colourful art, a 250-page retrospective. I spoke to the artist at her book launch and vernissage at Galerie de Bellefeuille on Greene Ave.
Labour of love
Simply entitled Jennifer Hornyak, the
coffee table book contains over 200 images
of Hornyak’s colourful floral painting.
After a conversation on art books, she
commented to her assistant David Malboeuf
that “it might be fun to do one.”
Jennifer Hornyak's exhibition at Galerie de Bellefeuille was another great success. The opening reception was packed for the opening as everyone gathered to take a first look at Jennifer's new paintings and to buy a copy of her new book.

Jennifer Hornyak will be presenting more than 30 new paintings at Galerie de Bellefeuille in her upcoming exhibition.

The opening reception will be on Saturday October 8 from 2:30 to 5PM. The artist will be in attendance and it will also be a great opportunity to get a first look at the book on Jennifer's career.

We have just received photos from Jennifer's on going show at Wallace Galleries.
We are very pleased with the installation and the wonderful team at Wallace Galleries. We take great pride to share these photos with you and celebrate this current achievement.
The exhibition, New Works by Jennifer Hornyak, will be presented at Wallace Galleries, Calgary, until May 19th. This show features more than twenty new paintings, both still-lifes and figures, and also introduces new materials and techniques.

Jennifer Hornyak will be exhibiting new works at Wallace Galleries, Calgary, from May 7th to the 19th
Some of the works presented reintroduce the human figure after having had a long absence from Jennifer's work. In recent years Jennifer's work has mainly been focussed around still-lifes.
The opening reception will be from 2-5pm on Saturday May 7, 2011

2011 will be a busy year for Jennifer Hornyak with three solo exhibitions and the release of a book looking back on her career.
The book will be released somewhere around early October and will cover the last thirty years of Jennifer Hornyak’s painting. It will be available through our galleries and website.
Details will be posted as events unfold.
Jennifer Hornyak was asked to be the jury for the 2011 Edition of the OKWA Festival in Kingston.
The competition featured women artists from the Kingston region and was organized by the Organization of Kingston Women Artists.
